Back Pain? Tight Neck, Stiff Shoulders, Achy Hips??? What if something as simple as lying on the floor could help?
Constructive Rest, sometimes known as “Active Rest”, “Semi-Supine” or the “Alexander Lie-Down” is an extremely effective self-help tool for Alexander Technique students, and for anyone else who wants a simple, practical way of releasing excess tension from their body. It’s easy to learn but a guided ‘walk-through’ is recommended to make it work beyond mere relaxation. A little attention and the right set up can make Constructive Rest influence your posture and the way you use your body in all of your daily activities, which can ultimately keep you poised, pain-free and positive.
This 90-minute small-group workshop at UC’s Communiversity is a fun, low-key and relatively low-cost way to learn this simple practice. Join us if you can!
